the martha & john m. Rivers performance hall
The result of collaboration between renowned design architects, expert acousticians and leading theater planners, the world-class Martha & John M. Rivers Performance Hall is properly sized to 1,800 seats to create an intimate experience for performers and patrons. Essential acoustical considerations are meticulously integrated into the design, construction, and furnishing of every component of the hall, ensuring that the audience becomes part not only of the acoustical design but also of the exhilarating artistic experience.
Echoing the design of Europe’s great opera houses, the performance hall features an oval-shaped orchestra level with two center aisles and three tiers of horseshoe-shaped balconies to enhance acoustics and bring audiences closer to the stage. The second level features beautifully designed opera boxes.
The top two tiers are comprised of a dress circle and a lower and upper gallery, each with appealing social spaces, including a lobby and a hospitality center on dress circle and gallery levels.
All levels of the hall are disabled and elderly friendly, with easier access to and ample space for seating and, of course, multiple elevators and convenient restrooms.
